Role: Backend Developer (Support Services)
Salary: $61,000 - $71,000 CAD, plus benefits
Contract: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week), flexible working
Location: Remote (the ideal candidate will be based in Canada, with our HQ being in the UK)

We are currently seeking a smart, collaborative and curious Backend Developer to join our inclusive and playful Support Services team.
The Support Services team maintains the sites and products that we have built for our growing client base (currently over 80). The successful candidate will ensure our sites and products are maintained to the same standards and rigour of their initial launch. They'll also be involved in creating and updating features and functionality.
We are particularly interested in speaking to developers who, as well as having excellent knowledge of PHP, have demonstrable experience with VueJS.
Requirements The successful candidate will be responsible for: - Backend Development in the Support Service Team to ensure our sites and products are maintained to the same standards as initial launch
- Troubleshooting, triaging and responding to tickets from the client base so our clients always know where they stand
- Estimating Tickets and providing advice to Support and Solutions Managers
- Adhering to our internal Best Practices including code reviews, clean and well documented code, and local environment management
Knowledge, experience and skills that make the successful candidate great for this role are: - Excellent working knowledge of back end development technologies primarily with PHP, including:

Object Oriented PHP,

Test Driven Development with (PHP Unit),

Dependency management (we use Composer)

Knowledge of Javascript and Javascript Frameworks (we mainly use vanilla Javascript, VueJS and some jQuery)

Excellent knowledge of Hosting/Infrastructure management (We use Heroku & AWS services (RDS, S3, Cloudfront), provisioned via Terraform)

Excellent knowledge of Relational databases primarily MySQL but also some PostgreSQL

Experience with API's (Rest and SOAP)

Excellent working knowledge of Git (branching, merge requests, version control, pipeline deploy)

Experience and a passion for helping teams to work efficiently and produce high quality work that keeps our clients happy

Excellent problem solving skills. Being able to interpret client requirements and create solutions (if needed) is a key part of the role

Being comfortable with regular context switching - client support necessitates this
Ideally, the successful candidate will also have: - Experience in AWS (RDS, S3,, Lambda, Cloudfront, IAM, )
- An interest in the arts and culture sector
- Experience working in an agency environment
