From this continued success we are now looking to recruit a Head of Development to allow us to continue our exciting growth plans.

As a Head of Development, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and leading our five dynamic development teams. This pivotal role requires a strong leader with proven management qualifications and experience to drive our development efforts and ensure the successful delivery of our technical projects.
Role responsibilities;
- Lead, mentor, and manage five teams of full stack developers and testers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the development department
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Collaborate with other departments, including product management and business stakeholders, to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Monitor and report on development progress, addressing any issues that arise
- Promote best practices in software development, including coding standards, testing, and documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the development teams, leveraging new technologies and methodologies.
- Manage resource allocation and team capacity to optimise productivity and project outcomes.
- Oversee release management processes to ensure timely and successful software releases.
Key skills required;
- Strong technical background with a deep understanding of software development processes and methodologies.
- Proven management qualifications and experience, with a track record of successfully leading multiple development teams.
- Ability to make strategic decisions and solve complex problems
- Experience with Laravel, PHP, and LAMP stacks
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills ? a people person above all.

This a remote role with occasional travel to the Newport office if possible.
