Our client is a market leading provider of innovative Retail and Commerce Systems and are looking for a proactive, experienced PHP Technical Lead to join a talented team of professionals who are passionate about delivering best:of:breed technology to customers.
The Technical Lead will be responsible for leading a small team of software engineers across multiple projects/SCRUM teams. The Technical Lead will be responsible for delivering efficient, secure and scalable solutions that are architecturally sound, testable and written with a focus on coding standards. The technical lead will also facilitate agile software delivery and ensure that the principles of SCRUM are followed by software engineers and product owners.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage and measure the performance of software engineers.
- Assist with codebase management (Release preparation etc.).
- Identify, agree and implement improvements to ways of working .
- Maintain coding standards and implementation quality.
- People management and coaching.
Experience Candidates must have experience of managing a software development team.
Software development experience should include PHP (MVC i.e. Laravel/Symfony), MySQL and JavaScript. JS frameworks such as Angular and React would be a bonus.
Key Skills - OO PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (Inc. JQuery) , Angular
- MVC frameworks, preferably Laravel/Symfony
- Knowledge of RESTful API principles
- Knowledge of containerisation principles and systems (e.g. Docker/Kubernetes)
- A working knowledge of the LAMP stack
- Knowledge of Agile (SCRUM) principles.
