Senior PHP/WordPress Developer

A playful yet hard-working web design studio is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer (PHP, WordPress) to work on client-driven projects. We believe in enjoying the rigorous process of deadline-driven client work. We manage to do this while still having an emphasis on a fun, community motivated work culture.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Develop new functionality and choose plug ins using your WordPress knowledge to excel clients expectations
• Help build enterprise-scale WordPress solutions
• CI/CD pipelines
• Participate in code reviews and lead pair programming activities
• Attend and contribute to sprint and client meetings
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the business to contribute to both your career and the success of the business
• Bring your A game and act as a mentor to the development team encouraging people to be the best they can be and adopt a winning mindset

Requirements for the role:

• Minimum of five (5) years of WordPress development experience
• Minimum of five (5) years writing PHP
• Experience with at least one PHP framework like Symphony, Laravel, CodeIgniter or an understanding of PHP-open source projects like WordPress, Joomla or Drupal
• You will have a strong engineering mindset
• Worked on projects that required custom plug-in development
• A strong understanding and experience of working with modern PHP
• An understanding of web performance and its importance
• Communicate product delivery pipeline to team with direction from CTO
