Python / PHP / Javascript Developer

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual developer to join our software studio (please, no agencies). This is a position initially for (24 hours per week) with the potential to transition to full-time (30-40 hours per week).

Primary responsibilities will include web application development and support, with an emphasis on Python and PHP (Python is preferred). Additionally, there will be some frontend work involving HTML, JavaScript (particularly Vue.js), and CSS.

We don't expect you to have extensive experience in all of these technologies, but a reasonable level of competence in either PHP, Python or Javascript, along with a basic understanding of the other technology, is required. We strongly encourage learning on the job, so you'll have opportunities to expand your skills.

Key requirements:

- Adequate coding experience in web development and scripting environments, preferably with Python or PHP.

- Familiarity with frontend JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, or willingness to work with them.

- Ability to work independently and solve problems, while also being open to asking for assistance when needed (we value collaboration).

- Some availability during European timezone (EST) working hours, in particular between 4 - 5pm (on days you are working) and at to be able to attend our weekly update meeting at 3pm on Mondays.

- Strong communication skills and proficiency in English, as you'll regularly interact with the team and directly communicate with clients. You will also need to be able to review and interpret client requirements and technical documentation.

- Experience working with Git and knowledge of the "Github Flow" working process.

- Commitment to meeting weekly reporting requirements, including logging time promptly on our project management systems.

Bonus points for experience with the following (not essential but would be useful - please mention in your response):

- Working with popular database servers, especially Postgres.

- Familiarity with automated testing and test-driven development.

- Django or similar Python-based frameworks.

- WordPress.

- JavaScript and jQuery.

- Vue (and familiarity with Angular which we use in one project).

- Docker (and Compose) or Vagrant.

- Any experience with sysops work (server deployment and management, nginx, etc)

- Any experience with C++ or C#

- If you are located in or near Alicante, Spain, that's a major plus!
