Position: Back End Developer

Duration: 12 Weeks

Compensation: Unpaid (with potential for paid employment)

This is an unpaid internship that will run for 12 weeks. During this period, you will gain valuable experience in Back End Developer and contribute to meaningful projects.

This internship is unpaid. However, based on your performance and the successful acquisition of company funding, there is the potential for this role to transition into a paid position after the internship period. At the end of the **?**weeks, candidates who demonstrate exceptional performance will receive a pre-agreement, with payment commencing upon securing funding.

Role Overview:

As a Back End Engineer at Paramount Students, You will be responsible for the server side of our web

applications. You will work closely with our product, design, and frontend developers to create seamless and

engaging experiences for our users. This role requires a deep understanding of modern back-end

technologies, and a passion for delivering exceptional user experiences. You will also contribute to the architectural decisions, advocate for best practices in backend development, and stay updated with the latest web technologies and trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development and maintenance of mobile and web applications, ensuring high performance, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with designers and frontend developers to determine use case prioritisation.
  • Optimise applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in front-end development.

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of CMS framework.
  • Hands-on experience with programming languages like Java, Ruby, PHP and Python.
  • Developing and maintaining APIs for web and mobile applications.
  • Integrating user-facing elements with server-side logic.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
  • Ensuring application performance, scalability, and security.
  • Designing and implementing server-side logic and database architecture.
  • Design and manage database architecture and server integration.
