Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Website (WordPress) Developer to join our team. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining custom WordPress websites and applications. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of WordPress core, themes, plugins, and best practices. You should be able to translate client requirements into functional and visually appealing websites. We seek someone with significant, big scope, web development experience, with a strong portfolio - seasoned at both executing and strategizing autonomously w/ cross functional support. NOTE: This role must be based in the US and we are not able to provide sponsorship now or in the future to legally work in the US.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain 40+ partner websites, integrating them to the WordPress Multi-site platform and providing consistency across all the websites and CreteUnited.com
Integrate various plugins and extensions to enhance functionality
Troubleshoot and resolve website performance issues
Optimize websites for speed and search engine visibility
Maintain and update existing websites
Collaborate with designers and other developers
Stay up to date with the latest WordPress trends and technologies
Migrate new partners when acquired to WordPress and onboard their websites

Requirements:

Proven experience in WordPress development (minimum 5 years)
Proficient in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Strong understanding of WordPress core, themes, and plugins
Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and cross-functionally with Marketing
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Implement security best practices to protect websites from vulnerabilities and attacks
