About The Role We are seeking an experienced and talented design focused WordPress Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins.
This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the colour and font choices).
Key Responsibilities Custom Design Expertise - Experience in designing and implementing custom WordPress post types and taxonomies.
- Ability to translate design concepts into functional and responsive WordPress websites.
- Designing and implementing new features and functionality.
- Establishing and guiding the website?s architecture.
Theme and plugin customisation - Demonstrated ability to build custom WordPress themes from scratch or modify existing ones to meet specific design and functionality requirements.
- Proficiency in creating and customising WordPress plugins to extend core functionality or integrate third-party services.
- Deep understanding of WordPress template hierarchy, hooks, and actions.
- Familiarity with popular WordPress page builders (e.g., Elementor, Divi)
Strong proficiency in creating dynamic and interactive elements - Expertise in vanilla JavaScript or modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js) for building interactive user interfaces.
- Mastery of HTML5 and CSS3, including advanced layout techniques (e.g., Flexbox, Grid), responsive design principles, and animations.
- Experience with JavaScript libraries like jQuery or D3.js for DOM manipulation and data visualisation.
- Ability to optimise front-end performance and ensure cross-browser compatibility.
Expertise in integrating APIs to fetch and display data in visually appealing formats - Proficiency in making AJAX requests to RESTful or GraphQL APIs using JavaScript or PHP.
- Ability to handle and process API responses efficiently, including error handling and data sanitization.
- Understanding of data formatting and transformation techniques to prepare API data for visualisation.
About You - Extensive experience in WordPress development.
- Desire to work in a highly collaborative environment and participate fully in agile software development processes.
- Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery.
- Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications.
- Nice to have - Experience with data visualisation libraries like Chart.js, Highcharts, or D3.js to create interactive and informative charts and graphs.
- Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
- Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics.
- Experience with WordPress debugging and performance optimization.
- Experience with modern build tools and development processes (e.g., npm, webpack, etc.).
