PHP Developer

Job Title: PHP Developer Duration: 12 months (contract)

Location: Colorado Springs, CO (Remote)

Key Skills: PHP Development, C# and/or Java Experience, JavaScript/jQuery Proficiency, Shell Scripting (BASH or Linux), GIT Version Control and Agile Development Methodologies

Job Summary: The Software Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining applications in PHP, C#, Java, and JavaScript. This role requires the ability to manage multiple requests from customers, collaborate with various teams, and adhere to established protocols. The ideal candidate will be proficient in coding, shell scripting, and version control, with a focus on delivering solutions that align with organizational strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using PHP, C#, Java, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Perform shell scripting and work with BASH or other Linux environments.
• Handle simultaneous requests of varying complexity from supported customers.
• Complete assignments in a matrixed supervisory environment.
• Adhere to Incident Management and Change Management policies for incident resolution and system changes.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, Solution Engineers, Business Analysts, and Project Managers to design applications that align with OIT strategies (e.g., Cloud First, Mobile First).
• Assist in creating estimates and timelines for project deliverables.
• Develop applications according to business requirements using Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
• Perform coding for in-house applications or configuration management for COTS applications, ensuring adherence to standards and best practices, including unit testing.
• Coordinate update releases and system changes, contributing to break/fix solutions and maintaining documentation.
• Organize, build, and validate code segments for User Acceptance Testing.
• Ensure development activities align with established service portfolio policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Anticipate future enhancement needs and determine optimal coding approaches.
• Recommend changes to development policies, processes, and procedures to improve overall quality.
• Collaborate across a matrix management environment with other developers and OIT staff, following proper lines of authority.
• Innovate solutions to effectively resolve issues and enhance the development process.

Required Qualifications: - 3 years of experience in PHP development.

• 3-5 years of experience in either C# and/or Java.
• 3-5 years of experience in JavaScript and jQuery.
• 1+ year of experience in Shell Scripting (BASH or other Linux).
• 1+ year of experience with GIT for version control.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with Agile development methodologies.

• Familiarity with Change Management and Incident Management practices.
• Knowledge of Cloud technologies and secure coding practices.
