Job Title: PHP Developer Intern (Unpaid, Remote)

Scholar's Glen is dedicated to revolutionizing the student housing experience by connecting international students with a curated selection of quality off-campus accommodations near their desired universities. Our software development team is integral to enhancing and maintaining our platform's features and functionality. As a PHP Developer Intern, you'll collaborate closely with our team to create innovative features and implement updates. This remote internship requires candidates to have a reliable internet connection and a computer to carry out their responsibilities effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement new features and updates using PHP for web application development.
- Collaborate with the software development team to ensure code quality, consistency, and adherence to best practices.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of web application architecture.
- Participate actively in code reviews and contribute to coding best practices.
- Provide insights and suggestions for improving platform performance and enhancing user experience.
- Assist in troubleshooting and debugging software issues as needed.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by the software development team.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in computer science or a related field.
- Strong understanding of web development technologies and frameworks, with a focus on PHP.
- Experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with database management systems like MySQL is considered a plus.
