Web Developer (m/f/d) with Backstage knowledge - Freelance

We are looking for Web Developer (m/f/d) with backstage.io knowledge based on the requirements below:

Start: November 2024

End: March 2025++

Location: Remote from EU + 10% onsite (+/-) in Munich

Project Description:

Introduction of a single platform for an API Catalog (Inventory) that serves as a centralized repository, offering API Governors and API Owner comprehensive access to a wide array of APIs, facilitating transparency, efficient discovery and security indication within the ecosystem.

After initial assessment of technology approached in Q1 2024, the project team implemented the API Catalog until end of Q2 2024.

The long-term vision is to transform from a rather static API catalog into a full-fletched API portal.

Job Description:

- Backstage customizing/development and documentation based on technical user stories such as adjustments of detailed item views, display of custom fileds, improvement of usability via pagination, searches and filters

- Introduction of extended role and permission concept within product

- Improve development processes as part of a cross-functional team

- Quality assurance and Test automation in a self-organized way to ensure constant improvements

- Operate Backstage setup with frequent tooling upgrades

- Exchange with other Backstage developers out of other product teams

Requirements:

Must have:

- Mature Backstage know-how is mandatory

- Web-design know-how is mandatory

- GitLab Pipelines-, Python- and API know-how is appreciated

- Knowledge of collaboration tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, etc.)

- German Language (C2) is appreciated
