Senior Backend Engineer

Location: 100% Remote

Duration: 12 months contract with possibility of extension.

Start: Targeting December 2024

Pay Rate: $60 to $62.83/hr on W2

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to develop and support scalable, resilient platform services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Go and PHP (particularly with the Laravel framework) and experience with large-scale data migrations, cross-functional collaboration, and engineering design. This role involves building platform services that deliver a seamless experience across ecosystem products, working closely with other product teams to deliver impactful features, and contributing to the engineering interview process.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build scalable, resilient backend services using Go and PHP/Laravel that integrate seamlessly with a wide range of products and services.
• Execute large-scale data migrations across multiple quarters and teams, with the ability to effectively work through others to achieve results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional product teams, product managers, and engineers to ship new features and improvements.
• Lead engineering design discussions, gathering feedback and driving consensus to ensure project success.
• Play an active role in the engineering interview process, supporting team growth through candidate referrals and interview contributions.

Requirements:

• Proven experience with Go and PHP (Laravel framework preferred).
• Expertise with databases and data management tools, including DynamoDB, MySQL, and Redis.
• Proficiency with AWS Lambda, SQS, Elasticsearch, and Memcached.
• Bachelor?s degree in computer science or a related field.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience leading multi-team, long-term data migration projects.
• Proven track record in the engineering interview process, with successful candidate referrals and interview experience.
