Title: PHP/Wordpress Developer

Location: Raleigh, NC Remote

Duration: 3 Months

Notes: Either Webcam Interview or In Person

Description:

The client has an URGENT/IMMEDIATE need for a PHP and Wordpress Developer to get their website up and running again. Candidates need to be available immediately for the duration of the engagement. There may be a small extension to complete the work, if needed.

To support existing NC Museum of Natural Sciences (NCMNS) website:

  • Website Access Restoration: Diagnose and repair issues related to the missing WordPress login PHP file, restoring the login functionality for administrative and content management access.
  • Static Pages Restoration: Diagnose and repair issues related to the inability to make lives changes made to the static portions of the site.
  • Codebase Stabilization: Identify problematic custom PHP code, outdated plugins, and legacy configurations that contribute to website instability, applying fixes as necessary to support ongoing use.
  • Content Management Support: Make minor updates to improve navigation and usability where feasible, given the current structure, to facilitate better access for public users and ease of content management.
  • Short-Term Maintenance Recommendations: Provide guidance on maintaining the website's operability over the short term, including essential updates and monitoring for potential points of failure.
  • Documentation: Document any repairs, temporary fixes, or recommendations for the NCMNS team to maintain site functionality and address minor issues.

Skills:

  • Extensive experience with PHP Development
  • Experience with WordPress Development
  • Experience reviewing existing code to diagnose and repair issues related to missing WordPress login PHP files
  • Experience restoring the login functionality for administrative and content management access
  • Identify problematic custom PHP code, outdated plugins, and legacy configurations that contribute to website instability, applying fixes as necessary
