Web Developer
Description
We are seeking an experienced Web Developer to join our team on a part-time basis (2-3 days per week) to support and enhance our online presence. Our bakery, based in London, operates a successful e-commerce platform powered by WordPress and WooCommerce, and we need a developer with strong expertise in these systems to help us grow further.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, maintain, and optimise our WordPress/WooCommerce website, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.
- Implement custom functionalities such as product recommendations, bundles, user accounts, subscriptions, and more.
- Collaborate with the team to continuously improve the user experience and interface.
- Ensure the website follows SEO best practices from a development perspective to support effective indexing and ranking.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues, ensuring the site runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Regularly update plugins, manage integrations, and ensure compatibility with the latest technologies.
Required Skills and Experience:- Proven experience with WordPress and WooCommerce, particularly in developing and managing e-commerce websites.
- Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL.
- Experience with creating and customising WordPress themes and plugins.
- Strong understanding of SEO principles in the context of web development (no direct SEO management required, but familiarity with technical SEO aspects is essential).
- Ability to develop and integrate custom functionality and third-party tools.
- Knowledge of web performance optimization and security best practices.
- Understanding of UI/UX design principles.
