About The Position Velosio is looking for a Website Manager to be an integral member of the Marketing Team. We are looking for an experienced Website Manager to oversee the ongoing development, management, and optimization of our website. Built on WordPress with a custom theme, the site is focused on B2B Lead Generation in a complex product market. This role requires a mix of strong technical web development skills and an understanding of content strategy to support content creators and manage the site?s visual and functional integrity. You?ll work closely with the original theme developer to develop new features and content structures. You will be responsible for maintaining site quality, security, and performance with an eye on SEO.

Your Day Might Look Like We are seeking a top-tier Website Manager to take ownership of our web presence. This role is not just about maintenance; it?s about strategic development, performance optimization, and continuous improvement. Our websites, built on WordPress with custom themes and complex architectures (leveraging ACF and custom logic), are central to our B2B lead generation efforts. You will be the technical lead for our web properties, collaborating closely with our marketing team, content creators, and external development partners (including the original theme developer). This role demands a unique blend of deep technical expertise, a strong understanding of SEO and digital marketing principles, and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.

  • Strategic Website Development & Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of our WordPress websites, including planning, development, deployment, maintenance, and ongoing optimization. This includes managing a complex taxonomy, custom content types, and integrations with various marketing technologies.
  • Feature Development & Implementation: Lead the design, development, and testing of new features and enhancements, ensuring seamless integration with existing functionality and adherence to coding best practices. This includes managing the development queue and prioritizing requests based on business impact.
  • Performance Optimization & SEO: Proactively monitor and optimize website performance (page speed, Core Web Vitals), accessibility, and SEO (technical, on-page, and off-page). Conduct regular site audits, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions. Utilize analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console) to track performance and inform strategic decisions.
  • Security & Compliance: Maintain the highest standards of website security, including vulnerability scanning, patch management, and implementing robust security measures (e.g., Content Security Policy, regular backups). Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Plugin & Integration Management: Manage WordPress plugins, ensuring compatibility, security, and optimal performance. Oversee integrations with critical marketing technologies, including CRM (Microsoft Dynamics), marketing automation platforms, analytics tools, and other third-party services.
  • Content Strategy Support & Collaboration: Work closely with content creators and marketing teams to ensure content is optimized for search engines, user experience, and conversion. Provide technical guidance and support on content structure, formatting, and SEO best practices.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Track key website metrics, analyze data, and generate regular reports to demonstrate the effectiveness of website initiatives and identify areas for improvement. Provide data-driven recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external development partners, including the original theme developer, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. Website Migration & Redesign Leadership: Lead future website migrations, redesigns, and major feature implementations, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and maximizing ROI.

What You'll Bring Required Skills and Experience:

Technical Expertise - Expert proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL.

  • Deep understanding of WordPress architecture, including custom theme development, ACF, custom post types, taxonomies, and the WordPress API.
  • Experience with Git version control and collaborative development workflows.
  • Strong understanding of web performance optimization techniques (e.g., caching, minification, image optimization).
  • Experience with server management and hosting environments (managed WordPress hosting).
  • Experience with integrations with third-party services.
  • Understanding of database management and optimization.

SEO & Digital Marketing - Proven track record of improving website SEO performance.

  • Deep understanding of technical SEO best practices.
  • Experience with Technical SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog).
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and other analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing principles and strategies.
  • Experience setting up event tracking and visitor tracking scripts in GA4 and Tag Manager.

Project Management & Communication - Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Other Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with accessibility best practices (WCAG).
  • Knowledge of conversion rate optimization (CRO) principles.
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms.

Experience - 5+ years of experience managing and developing WordPress websites in a professional environment.

  • Proven experience leading website migrations, redesigns, and major feature implementations.
  • Experience working in a B2B environment is a plus.
