Fully Remote Linux System Administrator

We are seeking a Linux System Administrator to join this great team. This is a fully remote role; however, candidates must be based in the UK and eligible to work in the UK.
About the Role:
As a Linux System Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimising their Linux-based systems, ensuring they run smoothly and securely. You will work closely with the development and operations teams to support and enhance the software platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain Linux systems, with a focus on Debian-based distributions.
- Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot and resolve system and application issues.
- Ensure system security and reliability through regular updates and proactive monitoring.
- Optimize system performance to meet the needs of a high-traffic software platform.
- Use version control tools such as Git to manage configurations and deployments.
- Support PHP-based applications and ensure seamless integration with the system.
Key Requirements:
- A minimum of 4 years of Linux system administration experience.
- Proficiency with Debian, PHP, and Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Desirable but Not Essential:
- Experience working in a hosting company or a similar environment.
