THE ORGANIZATION

Owned by the private equity firm Maxim Partners, Zenwise has experienced impressive growth in both the U.S. and select international markets, including South Korea, the United Kingdom, the European Union, and Mexico. Its distribution strategy relies heavily on eCommerce platforms, where it leverages major digital marketplaces such as Amazon, TikTok Shop, Walmart.com, Vitacost.com, and Coupang to reach its global customer base. Beyond online channels, Zenwise also has begun to expand into retail, with its products available in approximately 1,200 Walmart stores across the United States. This omnichannel approach has enabled the brand to maintain a strong foothold in both digital and physical retail spaces.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will serve as the overall visionary, strategic leader, and primary decision-maker for Zenwise. Responsible for driving the company?s continued growth and operational excellence, the CEO will work collaboratively with the Leadership Team and Board of Directors to innovate and optimize the business in the fast-evolving omni-channel ecosystem including e-commerce, retail and channel partner distribution. The ideal candidate will prioritize scaling revenue, expanding market share, enhancing profitability, and deepening the company?s competitive advantage.
RESPONSIBILITIES &ACCOUNTABILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Build upon Zenwise?s well-defined vision for operational excellence, competitive advantage, and sustainable success.
- Develop, implement, and execute the company?s annual board-approved strategic and financial plans.
- Drive double-digit revenue growth and deliver significant EBITDA expansion, while exploring strategic merger and acquisition opportunities.
Build Demand for the Brand
- Develop the strategy and execute performance marketing campaigns across digital and social platforms to drive awareness, engagement, and conversions.
- Create and manage content strategies to strengthen brand presence and increase demand across key channels.
- Analyze campaign performance, leverage data-driven insights, and optimize strategies to maximize ROI.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Build, retain, and inspire a best-in-class, high-performing team capable of achieving ambitious growth goals.
Revenue & Profitability Growth
- Drive revenue growth at a double-digit rate while maintaining operational efficiencies to expand EBITDA at a disproportionate rate.
- Focus on accelerating e-commerce financial performance by optimizing key metrics, including Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Return on Ad Spend (ROAS), and Customer Lifetime Value (LTV) to maximize profitability.
Market Expansion & Optimization
- Scale distribution channels across major U.S. retailers (e.g., Walmart, Target, Costco) and leading eCommerce platforms such as Amazon, TikTok Shop, Walmart.com, Vitacost.com, and Coupang.
Financial Management
- Oversee the development and management of annual operating budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans to support organizational goals and objectives.
FIRST YEAR KEY DELIVERABLES
- Develop and align the Board with a clear 3-year growth strategy.
- Build strong brand awareness and a competitive moat around Zenwise products to protect market share.
- Build continuity and trust with the team while filling any gaps to execute the growth strategy.
- Successfully deliver the 2025 budget and key new product launch.
THE INDIVIDUAL
Education
- Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, or a related field is an asset with relevant experience being considered in lieu.
Experience
- Leadership at a Growth-Stage Company: CEO experience is an asset but not a requirement. Must have proven leadership experience and demonstrated success in scaling a company from a minimum $10M organization through its growth phase to a sizable organization ($50M+).
- Financial Acumen: Must have strong financial acumen with ability to drive decisions through metrics and through P & L understanding.
- Performance Marketing Brand Development: Must have proven experience in driving brand demand and building a strong brand presence through performance marketing. The ideal candidate excels at executing cost-effective marketing strategies, particularly through e-commerce platforms and social media channels growing the brand?s awareness, reach and engagement.
- eCommerce & Social Media Proficiency: Must have a proven track record of success in scaling brands on platforms such as Amazon, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) channels.
- Industry Expertise in 1 of the Following: Dietary supplements, health & wellness nutrition products, sports & nutrition, or beauty.
- Nutrition/Wellness Knowledge & Passion: A strong understanding of nutrition and the role of nutraceuticals in promoting health is highly preferred.
- Retail Channel Management: Experience in managing relationships with national retail accounts (e.g., Walmart, Target, Costco, Whole Foods Market) is an asset.
- International Expansion: Experience working with distributors and expanding brands in ex-U.S. markets, such as the UK, EU, Mexico, and Asia would be a valued skill set.
- Team Development: A proven ability to recruit, mentor, and lead high-performing teams, fostering an inclusive and results-driven culture.
