PHP Engineer (gn)

As a Senior PHP Engineer (gn), you will be part of our B2B engineering team. Together, we are developing a cutting-edge Composable Commerce Architecture, leveraging modern microservices. Our tech stack includes Symfony Framework, PHP 8, and the AWS ecosystem (e.g., SNS, SQS, Event Bridge, Lambda).

Your mission

• You continuously optimize and enhance our software using modern methods and architectures
• You independently and agilely implement innovative projects in collaboration with your interdisciplinary team and the Product Owner
• You design and implement software solutions, e.g., microservices architectures, in close coordination with business departments and colleagues
• You explore and adopt new technologies and concepts
• You actively work with methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, peer reviews, and retrospectives
• You share your expertise and contribute to team development
• You participate in strategic decision-making within the team

Your Experience & Skills - You have successfully completed studies in computer science, training in software development, or a comparable qualification

• You have several years of hands-on experience in software development with excellent skills in PHP
• You possess solid knowledge of microservices and asynchronous programming
• You are familiar with API design and DevOps principles
• You bring bonus experience with additional programming languages and a background in e-commerce
• You demonstrate strong customer and team orientation, a talented eye for the essential, and an open, transparent communication style
• You have excellent German and English skills, both written and spoken

• Languages and Frameworks: PHP (version 8.x and above), Symfony, Laravel
• Cloud and Container Technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS (incl. Lambda, SNS, SQS)
• Software Architecture: OOP, SOLID, microservices, queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, SQS, SNS), event sourcing
• DevOps & CI/CD: Git, GitHub Actions, Infrastructure-as-Code (terraform)
• Agile Tools: Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence)
