We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Backend Developer to play a key role in building and optimizing the infrastructure behind our digital products. You will be responsible for developing scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems that ensure a seamless experience for our users.

In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop new features, enhance system performance, and contribute to architectural decisions. Your work will directly impact the reliability and efficiency of our platform, helping Heymondo deliver a smooth and hassle-free experience to travelers worldwide.

Key activities / responsibilities to perform:

In partnership with the IT Department, identify opportunities and risks for delivering the company?s services as a web-based business, including identification of competitive services, opportunities for innovation, and assessment of marketplace obstacles and technical hurdles to the business success.
Validate and execute the technological roadmap for our products (B2C, B2B).
Collaborate with the IT Department to assess and recommend technologies that support company organizational needs.
Design and build new features that will be used from customers to our internal team.
Identify problems uncovered by customer feedback and testing, correct and refer problems to be solved as appropriate.
Be in charge of the documentation process of new developments and features.
Determine user needs by analyzing technical requirements.
Develop and maintain external integrations with different stakeholders.

Requirements:

Bachelor?s degree in Web development or a related field.
Debugging principles (Understanding, Isolate).
Proven experience (+3 years) in PHP development.
Expertise in Laravel framework (11) and best practices.
Knowledge of Unit Testing.
Experience with relational databases (MySQL).
Solid GIT knowledge.
Practical experience with agile methodologies (Scrum/Agile).
Basic knowledge of Docker.

Nice to have:

Experience with Unix and Nginx.
Experience in continuous integration and deployment tasks.
Experience with Laravel Forge.
Experience with AWS (S3,LightSail,EC2,RDS).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with BI systems.
Experience in microservices design and implementation.

Schedule: Full Time

37.5 hour work week from Monday to Friday.
100% Remote (we have a very nice office right next to Torre Agbar in Barcelona in case you want to work from there too).
