Chief Technology Officer
Description
We are currently recruiting for a Chief Technology Officer for a pre-seed startup changing the game in Digital Pathology, Drug Development and Diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities:
- AI & ML Development: Lead the research and development of state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms tailored for digital pathology applications.
- Platform Engineering: Architect and build the ML platform, pipelines, and infrastructure to support scalable AI solutions and seamless integration with clinical workflows.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of machine learning engineers, data scientists, and software engineers as the company scales.
- Strategy & Fundraising Support: Partner with the CEO on technical strategy, product vision, and investor discussions, with a particular focus on articulating the technical roadmap.
- Innovation & Research: Stay ahead of industry trends in AI, computational biology, and digital pathology, ensuring our solutions are both cutting-edge and practical for clinical use.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with scientific and business teams to translate clinical and drug development needs into technical solutions.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Computer Science, AI, Computational Biology, or a related field.
- Proven experience leading ML/AI development and deploying AI platforms, ideally in healthcare, biotech, or digital pathology.
- Hands-on expertise in algorithm development, deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), and ML pipeline tools (e.g., MLflow, Kubernetes).
- Strong software engineering background, with experience building scalable systems from scratch.
- Track record of leadership in a startup or innovative environment, with the ability to recruit and inspire high-performing technical teams.
- Familiarity with oncology, drug development, or computational pathology is a significant plus.
- Minimum of 5+ years of industry experience and strategic and hands on leadership experience is a must
