The Role We are seeking an experienced and motivated Frontend Web Developer to develop, implement, and maintain WordPress applications as the primary focus, ensuring scalability, performance, and security. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with at least 5 years of frontend development experience. You will play a key role in enhancing tools that empower our customer care, education, sales, and attorney teams to better serve our members.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain WordPress applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
- Develop and implement dynamic web pages using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Integrate and develop RESTful APIs.
- Work with MySQL and MS SQL Server databases.
- Write efficient code, debug issues, and conduct thorough testing.
- Work collaboratively in an Agile team environment, ensuring seamless integration between frontend and backend services as needed.
- Maintain and improve web application performance.
- Debug, test, and ensure high-quality, responsive web applications.
- Execute integrations with systems like Zuora billing, five9, Salesforce, and BI.

Qualifications - 5+ years of hands-on experience in WordPress development, including custom theme/plugin development, performance tuning, and security best practices
- Experience with PHP is required, and familiarity with Laravel is a plus but not the primary focus.
- Strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful API integration.
- Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL Server.
- Bachelor?s degree in computer science (or a related field), with a strong foundation in structured programming, object-oriented design, and database architecture.
- Proficiency in debugging, unit testing (e.g., Jest, PHPUnit), and using version control tools like Git.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Experience with modern WordPress tools such as Gutenberg, Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), WooCommerce, Elementor, or REST API integrations.
- Proficiency in frontend development with modern JavaScript frameworks (React or Vue are a plus).
- Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for WordPress, including caching strategies, CDN integration, and database optimization.
