Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Golang) for a 6 Month Contract with potential extension/conversion, and it will be 100% Remote PST. Overview: In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the backend services that power our high-traffic platform. You will work with technologies like AWS, Golang, gRPC, Kubernetes, Terraform, and a microservice architecture to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems. Additionally, the Senior Backend Engineer will be working with databases and event streaming platforms to handle high-volume data and real-time communication. Handling tens of millions of calls and messages daily, you will focus on keeping our platform fast, responsive, and highly available. Key Tasks:

• Develop and Maintain Backend Services by designing, and implementing functionality new & existing microservices
• Work with front-end teams and product to build delightful customer experiences
• Maintain a High Bar of Quality for the team, producing readable code, writing testable code, refactoring legacy systems, actively contributing to development standards and cross-team architectural reviews
• Participate in a Rotating On-Call, responsible for service uptime, availability of critical functions, and performing root cause analysis of incidents to identify steps towards lasting remediation
• Organize and communicate the technical details of upcoming projects through our architectural review process

Requirements - Experience developing API services with gRPC or REST

• Experience in Golang
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tooling (Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Terraform or others)
• Ability to apply design principles and methodologies for building reliable, scalable and high-performance backend architectures
• Experience using relational or non-relational database technology (MariaDB, RDS, DynamoDB, Redis)

• Experience with telecommunication (e.g., SIMs, MVNOs)
• Experience with migrating from legacy stacks (i.e., PHP, Ruby)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
