Software Developer

Job Description BreakPoint Labs is looking for a software developer (3 or more years of experience) to join our software development team. We provide applications and tooling for a DoD customer, mainly in the form of web applications. Our primary tech stack is Python, Django, and PostgreSQL, plus judicious use of JavaScript. We value people who can work autonomously but who will also ask for help when needed. Candidate must have a strong understanding of current software engineering practices. The position is remote but the Candidate must live within the preferred locations which may be either the National Capital Region, Dayton, OH, or Vicksburg, MS. Duties and Responsibilities: - Collaborate with other developers and engineers to develop and support applications

• Troubleshoot software issues and develop solutions
• Draft and maintain technical documentation
• Package application for deployment using Docker

Required Experience: - 3 years of experience in the development, deployment, operation, and maintenance of software applications

• 1 year of experience writing applications with Python
• Ability to obtain Security+ Continuing Education (CE) [CompTIA] within the first 90 days of employment

Preferred Experience: - Experience with JavaScript, Ruby, PHP, Django, PostgreSQL or Elasticsearch

• Experience in developing and deploying web applications
• Familiarity with Docker, Ansible, or Gitlab
• Strong Linux administration and development experience
• Proficiency writing automated tests
• Experience with Git version control system
• Background in cybersecurity concepts, especially defensive cybersecurity operations
• Experience working in a DoD environment and implementing access controls

Certifications Required: Certifications Security+ Continuing Education (CE) [CompTIA]

Clearance Level Required: Security Clearance Interim Secret

Education Required: BS Degree in the Area(s) of Study Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred.
