Job Title: FileMaker Developer (Remote)

Job Overview/Summary The Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Governing Board is seeking a FileMaker Developer to support the Connecticut Information Sharing System (CISS) Application Program Interface. The developer will work remotely, playing a critical role in ensuring the system's integration with RMS vendors. This role requires expertise in FileMaker development and a solid understanding of Software Development Methodologies (SDM). The ideal candidate will assist in system design, testing, troubleshooting, and compliance with state and criminal justice architecture standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software aligned with CJIS-CT Architecture Standards and SDM
  • Document designs and code structures in accordance with SDM
  • Support the development, execution, and documentation of Unit Test, System Integration Test, and User Acceptance Test plans
  • Facilitate troubleshooting and resolve system issues related to the CISS interface with RMS vendors
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on application design, compliance reviews, and system integration
  • Manage software version control, perform peer code reviews, and execute software migrations across environments
  • Participate in technical reviews, including the Technical Review Board (TRB) design reviews
  • Contribute to Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning efforts
  • Ensure system compliance with Connecticut Enterprise Architecture Technology Architecture (CTEATA), Global Justice Reference Architecture (JRA), and other criminal justice standards
  • Perform tasks as assigned by the CJIS-CT Program Manager or Technical Code Development Manager

Primary Skills - Bachelor's degree in Computer Technology or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in programming with 3rd generation languages and software design patterns
  • Extensive experience with FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Go, and FileMaker Server
  • Proficiency with MySQL databases
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems, including Windows, Mac, and Ubuntu
  • Expertise in JavaScript, PHP, CSS3, CSS, HTML5, HTML, and JQuery
  • Experience with Postman, Amazon Web Services, and CodeIgniter
  • Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration among criminal justice stakeholders

Secondary Skills (Good To Have) - Familiarity with LAMP stack and API integrations

  • Experience working in criminal justice systems or government-related projects

Qualifications - Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to design, execute, and maintain performance test cases
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning
