Position Overview
In this position, you will be a lead technical expert and developer, assisting Blue Door Consulting?s team in building websites, mobile applications and other online experiences for its varied clientele. Our web developers work closely with our internal team to develop specifications, implement best practices and make recommendations on the use of existing and emerging technologies. Primary Responsibilities
In order to help our clients grow, you will regularly lead technical discussions and analysis, collaborate to discuss project requirements, identify growth opportunities and develop and implement technology-related project plans using a variety of languages, platforms and systems.
You are well-suited for this position if you enjoy a variety of aspects of web development and programming.
- Provide creative, high-quality and stable solutions that enhance projects and final deliverables using WordPress or other content management systems, usually within a LAMP stack
- Look to new, emerging technologies and released features to improve user experiences and achieve organizational goals
- Work closely with project leads and other members of the development team to deliver quality deliverables on time and on budget
- Assist in developing detailed specification documents with clear project plans and deliverables along with the necessary functional requirements, timelines, and budget estimates
- Be readily available outside standard business hours on a rotating call schedule with the programming team to evaluate and fix client website outages and emergent issues with proper urgency
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of deliverables, communicating to the project lead with efficiency and accuracy regarding any questions, progress and/or delays

Skill Sets and Qualifications
- Bachelor?s Degree in a computer-related field
- A minimum of five years of work experience
- Expertise required in JavaScript and JavaScript libraries, HTML5, CSS3
- Expert knowledge of object-oriented PHP, MySQL
- Proficient in WordPress development including custom plugin and theme authoring and customization
- Knowledge and experience using WordPress hosting environments like WPEngine and Kinsta
- Experience with version control (git) and an understanding of automated deployment
- Experience with Linux server management and cPanel/WHM administration is a plus
- Experience with software development life-cycle methodologies
- Ability to perform data modeling and write efficient database queries
- Experience in integrating with and consuming various third-party service APIs
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical team members
