Authentic African Voices
Description
Now Recruiting: Authentic African Voices Living in the U.S. to Join Our Board of Directors
Are you an African native living in the United States, passionate about uplifting communities back home and shaping Africa?s future from where you stand?
Footprints in Africa, an international 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and subsidiary of Chayil Enterprises LLC, is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals in poverty-stricken communities across Africa by providing essential resources to help maintain a standard quality of life.
We believe that a single action can make all the difference in the lives of others, and collective efforts can greatly impact the world. Through advocacy and community outreach programs, such as our Soles for Africa project, and by spearheading core initiatives like Alkebulan, Footprints in Africa's Cultural Emporium (which is focused on preserving the skilled craftsmanship of Africa), we aim to foster sustainable support that drives real change and uplifts African communities.
To further this mission, we seek authentic African voices currently living in the United States to join our Board of Directors. Who better to shed light on the needs, challenges, and potential of Africa than those who have lived the experience?
We value representation from diverse African regions and professional backgrounds. As a volunteer board member, you will help shape our strategic direction, advocate for African communities, and ensure our work remains grounded in authentic insight and experience.
WHY WE NEED YOU:
Who better to illuminate the challenges and opportunities across Africa than those born and raised in The Motherland? We believe a melting pot of African voices?diverse in origin, expertise, and experience?will elevate our mission and drive authentic, transformative change.
AS A BOARD MEMBER, YOU WILL:
- Help shape our strategic direction and organizational priorities
- Provide cultural, regional, and professional insight into African communities
- Advocate for our mission and broaden our reach
- Support and participate in our programs, events, and fundraising efforts
BOARD MEMBER COMMITMENTS:
- Annual Dues: Contribute a minimum of $500 annually to support our programs and initiatives
- Meetings: Attend monthly virtual (or occasional in-person) board meetings
- Event Engagement: Participate in at least 3 of our 4 major annual events
- Advocacy & Fundraising: Share our mission with your networks and help champion fundraising efforts
WHAT YOU GAIN:
- A seat at the table of a purpose-driven international nonprofit
- The opportunity to influence meaningful change across African communities
- A platform to share your heritage, insight, and voice
- Connections with like-minded changemakers and global allies
This is a volunteer, non-compensated position ideal for those who are mission-driven and eager to contribute their time, expertise, and cultural perspective to something bigger than themselves.
Joining our board means being a part of a purpose-driven organization that is passionate about creating sustainable change. If you are from Africa and now reside in the U.S., and are looking for a way to give back to The Motherland with your voice, experience, and leadership, this is your opportunity.
Together, let?s leave lasting footprints in Africa.
