Future
Senior Developer
Description
The Technology & Engineering department at Future offers a collaborative, collegiate environment where the primary focus is on well engineered and scalable solutions; to questions posed both by our product and commercial teams and from within the department.
We run regular hack days and focus on best practices with tech-based guilds which then feed into our products and improve developer experience in parallel with the efficiency of our sites and services.
What You'll Be Doing We're looking for a Senior Developer to help shape the future of our Vanilla platform ? a custom-built TypeScript and PHP system that powers top-tier brands like TechRadar, Marie Claire, and PC Gamer. Your primary focus will be building, stable UI components using TailwindCSS, with emphasis on optimising for Google Core Web Vitals. You'll collaborate with UX designers to bring clean, accurate UI to life, while ensuring all technical standards are upheld.
Reporting to the Tech Lead, you'll play an important part in defining architecture decisions and maintaining an understanding of the Vanilla platform and its integrations, such as the Kiosq paywall and Arcade ecommerce tools. You'll be hands-on across the stack, responsible for debugging, writing unit and end-to-end tests, and ensuring code is clean, testable, and well-documented. Frameworks like Vitest, PHPUnit, and Cypress are part of your toolkit. You'll also contribute to code reviews, QA, and production deployment, while mentoring junior developers and sharing your expertise during regular hack days and innovation sessions.
If you're passionate about performance, eager to explore modern tech, and excel in a collaborative environment ? we'd love to hear from you.
