About The Company GEGI develops a reliable, flexible, and accessible Student Information System (SIS) tailored for private schools across the U.S. Our system supports various educational processes, including admissions, regulatory compliance, financial aid, accounting, and career placement, helping schools manage critical functions efficiently.
About The Role We are expanding our development team and seeking an experienced Senior PHP Developer to contribute to the enhancement and growth of our SIS platform. You will be responsible for developing new functionality both within existing services and through new service creation. Working closely within a small team, you will plan, estimate, and deliver high-quality code while maintaining deadlines and technical standards.
Responsibilities - Develop new modules and features as part of a 2-5 developer team led by a Team Lead
- Plan and estimate user stories and tasks accurately
- Prepare technical specifications and manage task timelines to meet deadlines
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and task verification to ensure software quality
Qualifications - Minimum 5 years of full-time software development experience with a strong grasp of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles
- At least 3 years of professional experience with PHP 7.0 or higher
- Solid experience working with MySQL, including query analysis and optimization
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Ability to write clear technical documentation and instructions in English
- Comfortable working independently while contributing as part of a team
Preferred - Prior experience as a Senior PHP Developer
- Experience working remotely with a consistent schedule
- Familiarity with modern PHP frameworks
- Knowledge of APIs and microservice architectures
- Conversational-level English proficiency
