About The Role We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our development team focused on enhancing our proprietary RegTech software solutions. You will work primarily with a LAMP-based technology stack and the Symfony PHP framework to build and maintain backend microservices within an Agile environment. This is a full-time, US-based remote position with work hours aligned to Eastern Time (8am?5pm).
Responsibilities - Collaborate within a dynamic development team to drive forward PHP application development.
- Contribute to the ongoing architecture and evolution of our software applications.
- Translate business process specifications into efficient, modular software solutions.
- Resolve bugs and maintain quality within an internally developed codebase.
- Work closely with superusers to capture business requirements for new features.
- Maintain security awareness and incorporate best practices into development.
- Write clean, well-structured, maintainable code following OOP and SOLID principles.
Qualifications - Minimum 4 years of professional experience in modern PHP frameworks; experience with Symfony or Laravel is preferred.
- At least 2 years working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Solid understanding of microservice architecture and REST API design.
- Proficient in OOP and SOLID design principles.
- Experience writing automated unit tests.
- Working knowledge of relational databases; NoSQL knowledge is a plus.
- Familiarity with queueing systems like RabbitMQ and caching mechanisms is a bonus.
- Comfortable with IDEs and Continuous Integration tools such as Bitbucket and Jira.
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Process-oriented mindset with a focus on goals and deliverables.
- Willingness to learn about financial compliance workflows is essential (prior knowledge is not required).
Benefits - Competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 based on experience and location.
