PHP Developer / Cloud Migration Engineer

Cloud Migration - PHP ( AWS to GCP )

• 3-6 months REMOTE contract

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant with 5+ years of experience to lead the migration of PHP applications from AWS to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have recent, hands-on experience with PHP development, as well as deep expertise in both AWS and GCP environments.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the end-to-end migration of PHP applications from AWS to GCP, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
2. Assess existing AWS-based PHP application architecture and design a robust migration strategy to GCP.
3. Identify and leverage compatible GCP services (e.g., Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions) to optimize application performance and cost.
4. Refactor or re-architect application components as needed for GCP compatibility and best practices.
5. Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GCP-native tools.
6. Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting using GCP tools.
7. Ensure application security and compliance with organizational and industry standards.
8. Document migration processes, architecture changes, and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.

Requirements:

1. 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering or cloud consulting roles.
2. Recent, hands-on experience with PHP application development and deployment.
3. Recent, hands-on experience with both AWS and GCP services.
4. Strong understanding of cloud migration strategies, best practices, and tools.
5. Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
6. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
7. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Relevant AWS and/or GCP certifications.
2. Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Deployment Manager).
3. Experience with application modernization and serverless/cloud-native architectures.
