Coder - Remote | WFH

Role Join our dynamic team at Auburn Memorial Medical Services (AMMS) as we seek skilled Medical Coders to contribute to our billing department. As a Coder, you'll play a crucial role in accurately assigning CPT and ICD-10 diagnosis codes for designated providers under the guidance of our billing manager. Timely and precise coding is essential to:

Establishing a comprehensive clinical database for patient care, research endeavors, quality assurance investigations, credentialing processes, case-mix analyses, and hospital planning.

Meeting data collection mandates set by regulatory bodies such as JCAHO and the NYS DOH.

Securing optimal reimbursement for AMMS, PC, and maintaining a steady cash flow.

To excel in this role, candidates should possess an Associate degree in a relevant field and at least one year of experience in medical office billing within a healthcare practice. Alternatively, an equivalent blend of education and practical experience is acceptable, encompassing proficiency in medical office billing procedures, medical terminology, and coding methodologies, among other areas of expertise. Applicants must hold accreditation as a Certified Coding Specialist and have a minimum of one year of experience in professional office outpatient coding. Familiarity with ICD-10 and proficiency in Microsoft Excel are preferred.
