Digital Platform Developer (Remote)

Alpha Media ? Corporate is looking for a full-time Digital Platform Developer to be remotely located while working with our Corporate Digital Technology department. Reporting to the Director of Web and Mobile Technology, the Digital Platform Developer will assist in the build-out and support of our mobile and web platforms from conception to completion. We are looking for an outstanding developer to be responsible for coding our digital platforms.

The ideal candidate is someone with the ability to facilitate and manage in a highly creative environment and can handle multiple priorities and projects at any given time with a high degree of proficiency and accuracy. The candidate should be highly skilled in the development process using HTML, CSS, TypeScript, React, Next.js, and PHP. This position requires extensive knowledge of both the WordPress CMS platform and the Next.js framework while having proven experience dealing with constantly evolving deadlines in an ever-changing project landscape with the ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities of this position may include the following: - Develop and enhance modular, scalable application components across the front-end and back-end.

• Leverage HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, and PHP to build new features, optimize performance, and maintain existing functionality using best practices.
• Develop and maintain headless CMS solutions and integrate with front-end frameworks such as Next.js.
• Troubleshoot issues related to WordPress themes, plugins, and API integrations.
• Integrate data from various backend APIs, databases, and third-party services.
• Ensure performance optimization and scalability of web applications.
• Stay plugged into emerging technologies and industry trends and apply them to operations and activities.

Requirements of this position may include the following: - Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

• A minimum of four years? work experience in web development.
• Extensive knowledge of WordPress and the creation of custom plugins and themes.
• Experience developing headless CMS architectures using WordPress with Next.js and React.
• Strong understanding of server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG).
• Experience developing enterprise-level products that must be scalable.
• Ability to gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs.
• Experience writing well-designed, testable, efficient code by using best web development practices.
• Knowledge of web technologies and techniques.
• Intuitive UI/UX Design experience.
• Experience maintaining, expanding, and scaling digital platforms.
• Adequate knowledge of relational database systems, Object-Oriented Programming, security, and web application development.
• Experience working with RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preference may be given to candidates who meet the above requirements and have the following: - Experience working in a remote setting.

• Knowledge of Jira, or other Agile project management tools.
• Extensive Google Analytics and web performance optimization knowledge.
• Experience with CDNs, caching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with modern testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, or similar).
