With rapid growth in recent years to now be at ?100m Revenue, with over 1k direct and indirect employees, the company is now positioning itself to guarantee continued success in the future with a number of transformational C-Level appointments including this role of Chief Technology Officer.

Background to the Chief Technology Officer role:

  • The company is at an inflexion point and the appointment of the next generation of leaders in the business is critical to the continued success of the business.
  • This will ensure a strong and aligned C-suite to work with the very talented existing senior managers and employee base.

Location & Reporting lines:

  • Reporting to the CEO (who is Dublin, Ireland, based), the CTO role can be based from one of the company?s main employee hubs including Dublin (Ireland), Porto (Portugal), Munich (Germany) or Sofia (Bulgaria) depending on candidate?s current location and preferences.

Objectives of the role:

  • Define and implement a clear technical vision roadmap that supports rapid scale and aligns with the company?s mission and growth objectives, in line with the Product and Commercial roadmap.
  • Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to translate business goals into scalable and secure technical solutions.
  • Lead platform scalability initiatives to ensure the core products can handle increased traffic, users, and data demands.
  • Oversee cloud infrastructure management, ensuring cost-effective scaling and efficient resource usage.
  • Design and implement a plan on technology consolidation and streamlining of development practices.
  • Develop a sustainable software architecture to ensure evolution from monolith platforms.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team, nurturing a culture of innovation, ownership, and accountability.
  • Review the current technology team structure and amend in line with the overall Product and Technology roadmap, in line with existing client requirements and future product development.
  • Lead recruitment, retention, and training initiatives to attract top technical talent aligned with the company's growth and vision.
  • Review current agile development practices and ensure a rapid iteration process, balancing speed with stability and performance.
  • Lead automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and speed up the delivery pipeline.
  • Develop proactive security policies, foster a security-first mindset across the company conduct regular audits, and ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2) as the company scales.
  • Translate complex technical challenges into strategic insights for executive leadership and board members.
  • Engage with investors and stakeholders to demonstrate how technology initiatives support growth, customer acquisition, and retention.

Responsibilities

  • Strong, credible leadership of a large technology organisation.
  • Ensure organizational change and consolidation of siloed teams under one Technology function, ensuring collaboration across teams and defining a sustainable way of working.
  • Create strong KPIs and OKRs across the Technology function, ensuring transparency of activities, tracking against delivery requirements, and ensuring high performance across the teams.
  • Working with the CPO and CCO to ensure a collective approach to company Technology operations, development and delivery against overall business objectives.
  • Review and restructure the Technology function, ensuring the right people are in the right positions for growth and success.
  • Managing the operational Technology budget to ensure Technology activities are in line with overall costs and ensure alignment with company revenue generating activities as it relates to commercial activities.
  • Driving the core principles of the role in conjunction with the CEO, with the CTO bringing their own experience to define the full scope of the role.

Candidate Background

  • An experienced CTO, with a strong background in SaaS, within capital markets/FinTech or related companies.
  • Experience in high-growth environments, and the skills to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution to meet investor expectations and drive value creation.
  • Experience scaling teams and platforms in fast-growing SaaS environments.
  • Demonstrated success in optimizing and scaling cloud infrastructure to support multi-tenant SaaS architecture and data growth.
  • Strong commercial acumen with evidence of developing harmonisation between tech, commercial, sales and marketing teams.
  • Experience with working in an agnostic tech stack.
  • Experience with balancing technology requirements aligned with client requirements a pure R&D for product development internally.
  • Experience with product development and the key alignment of Product and Technology functions.
  • Experience with restructuring/transforming a medium sized technology function.

Remuneration

An attractive base salary and bonus scheme and LTIP potential commensurate with the candidate?s experience will be offered
