Founding Full-Stack Software Engineer

About BioReact BioReact is building the future of data platforms and analytics for biotech and life sciences. Our mission is to streamline laboratory workflows, accelerate research, and empower scientists with cutting-edge data solutions. As our first engineering hire, you'll play a critical role in shaping our technology and company from the ground up. You will be reporting directly to our CTO.

What You?ll Do - Lead System Architecture & Development ? Design and implement scalable software solutions to support complex biotech workflows and data management.

• Drive Technical Strategy ? Make key decisions on technologies, frameworks, and infrastructure.
• Build & Ship Features ? Develop and deploy full-stack applications using Python, React, Postgres, Mongo and AWS.
• Write High-Quality, Tested Code ? Champion test-driven development (TDD) and ensure robust unit testing across the codebase.
• Integrate with Lab Hardware ? Work on bridging software with biotech laboratory instruments and data systems.
• Set the Engineering Culture ? Define best practices, mentor future hires, and lay the foundation for an exceptional technical team.

What We?re Looking For - 7+ years of hands-on software development experience, including leading teams and designing scalable systems.

• Proficiency in Python, React, and AWS (Nice-to-have: PHP).
• Experience in architecting, deploying, and maintaining full-stack applications.
• Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to make high-impact decisions.
• Comfortable with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and unit testing.
• (Bonus) Familiarity with biotech laboratory hardware integration.
• Local to the San Francisco Bay Area ? Must be available for in-person meetings at least once per week.
• U.S. Work Authorization Required ? We cannot sponsor visas or hire candidates outside the United States.
