Senior PHP Backend Developer

The role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our tech team and help shape the future of hospitality technology. You?ll work on robust, scalable systems using modern development principles like Microservices Architecture, TDD, DDD, Event-Driven Design, Event Sourcing, and CQRS.

As a senior engineer, you?ll take ownership of complex backend services, contribute to architectural decisions, and mentor other developers as we continue to modernize and grow our platform.

What will you do

• Apply object-oriented design, design patterns, and SOLID principles to write clean, testable, and extensible code.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable microservices using PHP (Symfony or Laravel preferred).
• Collaborate on solutions following Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Event-Driven Architecture (EDA).
• Implement and uphold Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices
• Work with Event Sourcing and CQRS patterns
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and design sessions
• Collaborate closely with DevOps, Frontend and Product teams to deliver end-to-end features.
• Continuously improve code quality, scalability, and performance.

Requirements

• Demostrated backend development experience, with strong proficiency in PHP.
• Solid experience with at least one PHP framework (e.g., Symfony, Laravel).
• Good understanding of microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience with TDD, DDD, and Event-Driven systems.
• Familiarity with Event Sourcing and CQRS patterns.
• Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.
• Comfortable working in agile and collaborative environments.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with an international team in English, both written and spoken.

Nice to have

• Experience with Golang or interest in learning it.
• Exposure to message brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar.
• Experience in the hospitality or travel tech industry.
• Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
