About the Role

We?re looking for a Backend Developer who thrives in a startup environment ? someone who can think critically about architecture, move fast without breaking things, and take ownership of delivering reliable, scalable features. You'll work primarily with PHP and Laravel, help build and maintain our RESTful APIs, and leverage AWS services to support a robust, cloud-native SaaS infrastructure.

What You?ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using PHP and Laravel (or similar frameworks)
• Collaborate closely with the product and frontend teams to ship features that solve real customer problems
• Leverage AWS tools and infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.) to build secure and scalable systems
• Write unit tests to ensure code stability and long-term maintainability
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions
• Use Git/GitHub to manage code and collaborate with teammates across time zones
• Work in a lean, remote-first Agile team where communication and initiative are key
• (Nice to have) Help manage and optimize Apache NiFi workflows for data integration

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of backend development experience, preferably in a SaaS environment
• Proficiency in PHP and modern frameworks like Laravel
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs
• Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and services
• Strong testing discipline, including writing and maintaining unit tests
• Excellent command of Git/GitHub for team collaboration
• Experience working in a remote, Agile development setting
• A strong sense of ownership ? you take responsibility from start to finish
• Exceptional communication and team collaboration skills
• High attention to detail, especially when it comes to security, performance, and maintainability

Nice to Have

• Experience working with Apache NiFi or other ETL/dataflow tools
• Familiarity with containerization, CI/CD, or infrastructure-as-code tools
• Some exposure to frontend technologies or working closely with frontend teams
