Kanahoma, a San Diego-based education marketing agency, is seeking a Vice President, Web, to elevate all web-centric services. The VP will own the vision and strategy for both our Web Services and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) practices, leading the team's strategy, processes and product roadmap that drive measurable growth for our clients.

You will report to the SVP of Marketing and serve on the agency?s leadership team, partnering closely with Paid Media, Creative and Account services.

The Vice President, Web, will be responsible for:

  • Owning the product vision and roadmap for every web property and SEO offering, including:
  • Website management, large-scale rebuilds, hosting and paid-media landing page management
  • End-to-end SEO strategy?technical, on-page, off-page and AI-powered content
  • Staying ahead of emerging tech and search-algorithm shifts
  • Owning web and SEO product delivery
  • Landing-page, full-site builds, SEO campaigns delivered on time, on budget
  • Overseeing SEO and web site performance
  • 100% uptime, WCAG-aligned accessibility and sub-5-second load times
  • Recurring site-wide testing and CRO programs
  • Act as final escalation point for any web or SEO service interruption
  • Driving revenue growth for Kanahoma
  • Partner with Sales & Accounts on the development of proposals, presentations, and statements of work
  • Lead prospective clients through discovery conversations related to web and SEO opportunities
  • Represent the agency at industry conferences, develop and deliver original thought leadership content,
  • Lead a best in class team of web developers, strategists and Executive Director of SEO

Qualifications include:

  • 10+ years progressive web?development, UX/UI experience
  • 8+ years SEO experience
  • 5+ years experience managing teams
  • Hands?on expertise with WordPress/PHP environments
  • Demonstrated success leading large?scale website projects end?to?end on time and on budget
  • Hands?on expertise with SEO toolsets (Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, etc.), as well as working knowledge of AI?s impact
  • Demonstrated experience in Paid Media conversion tracking set up and management
  • Proven ability to sell, scope and grow both web and SEO service offerings inside an agency model
  • Extensive education marketing experience, ideally across both institution and agency settings, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges facing college and university recruitment
  • Agency experience, including product ownership experience, strongly preferred strong strategic thinking, analytical acumen and executive?level communication skills

The Specifics

  • Compensation: $150K-$200K
  • Remote: Position is a fully remote WFH position
  • Location: Candidate can be located anywhere in the United States.
