At Fruition, we build and protect enterprise-grade websites for businesses and government agencies. We are hiring a Senior PHP/Javascript Developer to help with both full lifecycle implementation projects, as well as ongoing maintenance and feature development requests. Our ideal candidate must have experience in WordPress and Drupal, and experience with modern DevOps workflows, including using Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and deploying to containerized environments.

Additionally, candidates should have experience implementing projects with a headless approach (both WordPress and other headless content management systems) and must have experience with Rancher/Kubernetes. This role reports to the Director of Web Development.

Note: Our interview process includes rigorous live coding tests to evaluate your technical skills and problem-solving abilities in real-time. We will test your ability to architect solutions, identify potential issues, and demonstrate proficiency with Git, Kubernetes, Docker, and dependency management. We expect all developers to efficiently leverage AI tools while demonstrating the ability to critically evaluate and fix AI-generated solutions.

Job Description: Duties The Senior PHP/Javascript Developer will be involved in developing and maintaining enterprise-grade websites across various industries including Government, Non-Profit, B2B, and B2C. Projects may include full lifecycle implementations, ongoing maintenance, and feature development for existing sites. You'll work with modern technologies and frameworks, implementing both traditional and headless architectures. Specific duties include:

  • Develop and maintain enterprise-grade websites using PHP, Javascript, and related technologies
  • Work on both WordPress and Drupal projects, leveraging each platform's strengths
  • Extensive experience with WordPress custom theming, plugin development, ACF, Bedrock, and WordPress best practices.
  • Implement headless architectures using modern Javascript frameworks like React and Next.js
  • Utilize modern DevOps workflows, including Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker
  • Deploy and manage applications in containerized environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, project managers, and other developers
  • Contribute to technical planning and architecture decisions
  • Perform code reviews and provide guidance to junior developers
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues

Required Key Skills and Education: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or relevant work experience

  • 6+ years of experience in PHP development
  • Strong experience with WordPress and Drupal development
  • Proficiency in modern Javascript, including experience with React.js and Next.js
  • Experience with headless CMS architectures
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, including Git, CI/CD, and containerization
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and GraphQL
  • Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Deep understanding of system architecture to identify potential issues and bottlenecks
  • Advanced Git knowledge including branching strategies, conflict resolution, and complex workflows
  • Solid understanding of Kubernetes deployments, Docker builds, dependency management, and containerization best practices
  • Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for web applications
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks
  • Criminal background check required

Compensation Range: - $65,000-$130,000 annual salary for full-time W2 employee role, commensurate with experience, skills, education, tenure, and/or training

Location: - Must be US-Based
